Yesterday we had the opportunity to meet Martin Springett at McVeety School. He read us a book, told us some stories and showed us some pictures of Kate and Pippin, a dog and a deer who became friends. There are some videos of Kate and Pippin on Youtube below.

There is a lot going on this week!
We are collecting money for prostate cancer and celebrating Movember on Friday by wearing moustaches. Students are welcome to wear/create moustaches to wear on Friday.
We are also excited about the GREY CUP! Everyone is encouraged to wear green and white to support our Saskatchewan Roughriders on Friday along with their moustaches.
Please remember to return the permission slips for our trip to Dr. Perry school on Monday where we get to meet an author.
We are learning about the life cycle of crocodiles in class and today our wondering questions took us online. Here are a few websites to learn more about crocodiles:
Crocodiles - National Geographic for Kids
Crocodiles - Live Science

Help us to ….
Deck the Shelves
…. at Grant Road School
Deck the Shelves is an optional, alternative to gifts for teachers and staff members at Christmas.
Families make a donation, and then the school librarian will purchase a new book on their behalf.
Those
who participate will be the first borrower of the book. A book plate
will be placed in the book in recognition of the student/family
donation.
The new book will be available in the school library for circulation.
Thank you for your consideration to support Deck the Shelves.

We have a few things to share this week.
Last week we enjoyed the singing pumpkin house. Here is the link:
Pumpkin Light Show
We are getting ready for Agribition by learning about farm animals and practicing 'barnyard' dances like the Bird Dance. :) Please make sure you send in the permission forms and $1.50 for the bus!
This week we are focusing on peace as we remember the sadness of fighting and war. We will be talking about what we can do with our own hands to practice peace.
Poppies are available from the office for a coin donation. If you wish your child to have a poppy, please send a donation. You are welcome to join us for a Remembrance Day ceremony on Thursday, November 7 at 10:45am.
This Thursday is also our Sub Lunch day!
